Right now, we have a biochemical thermodynamics course. I am thoroughly NOT sure what this course is about! It’s very abstract, the classes are a bore and it seems like we are going no where.
Can anyone please tell me what this course is meant for? What way can biochemical thrmodynamics be helpful to a stdnet of biotechnology?
Thanks for any help already! Please do answer!

Noted for its readability, comprehensiveness and relevancy, the new fifth edition of this bestselling book provides readers with an accessible examination of the heat transfer field. They’ll gain a better understanding of the terminology and physical principles for any process or system involving heat transfer. And they’ll find out how to develop representative models of real processes and systems, and draw conclusions concerning process/systems design or performance from the attendant analysis.

The new standard for mastering heat transfer Respected for its readability, comprehensiveness, and relevance, Incropera and DeWitt’s text is the recognized standard for learning heat transfer. This text combines detailed coverage with the resources students need to meet their objectives. Its rigorous and systematic problem-solving methodology is filled with examples and problems that reveal the richness and beauty of the discipline.
This book moves students toward a clear understanding and a firm grasp of the basic principles of thermodynamics. It communicates directly with tomorrow’s engineers in a simple yet precise manner that encourages creative thinking. This edition presents an early introduction to the First Law of Thermodynamics, and establishes a general understanding of energy, mechanisms of energy transfer, and the concept of energy balance, thermo-economics, and conversion efficiency. It features over 700 new homework problems which further enhance the extensive and diverse homework problem sets, and physical intuition to help students develop a sense of the underlying physical mechanisms and a mastery of solving practical problems that an engineer is likely to face in the real world. The title includes a free Student Resources DVD containing Limited Academic Version of EES (Engineering Equation Solver) software with scripted solutions to selected text problems, Physical experiments in the (more…)
